SET 4-H Photo Contest

The Science Engineering and Technology Club (SET) will sponsor a 4-H photo contest each month. 4-H'ers submitting the winning photo will receive a certificate and have their photograph published in the Cameron 4-H Focus, Cameron Pilot, and on the Cameron Communications Community Bulletin Board.

Submit photos by email to rmmiller@agcenter.lsu.edu with “photo contest” in the subject line, or bring them to your month 4-H club meetings and present them to your agents.

Open to all Cameron Parish 4-H'ers!

Theme: Nature

In Lascaux, France on September 12, 1940, four teenage boys stumbled upon a small entrance to a cave. Further exploration revealed perhaps the most magnificent rock paintings in the world dating back 17,000 years to the late Paleolithic period. The Lascaux cave paintings depict different animals such as horses, bison, deer, bulls and others.

Take a picture walk to discover nature through photography.

Theme: Community Service and Citizenship

National Character Counts! Week, held the third week in October, celebrates schools, organizations, and communities committed to teaching ethical values. Educational programs, contests, and activities are held to affirm the importance of teaching trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, and citizenship. Children and adults are encouraged to perform community service to learn firsthand the good that comes from helping others.

Capture a photograph of community service activity or someone helping to make a difference.

The world\'s largest diamond was found on January 26th, 1905 in the Premier Mine in Pretoria, South Africa. The Cullinan Diamond was 3,106 carats and considered one of the most remarkable stones ever found.
