Concordia 4-H Attends 2008 4-H University and Clover College

Thirty-seven youth participated in 4-H University, which was held at LSU Campus in Baton Rouge in June. These 4-H'ers experienced a week of educational activities and contests. Congratulations to all 4-H'ers who placed at 4-H University and Clover College.

Concordia Parish had 69 youth, volunteers, counselors, and agents, who spent a fun-filled week at 4-H Camp this summer held at Camp Grant Walker. The following pictures are from their exciting week at camp where they enjoyed a variety of activities.

Programs are offered throughout the months of June and July at Vidalia, Ferriday, and Clayton Libraries and Concordia Bank in Monterey.

Concordia Parish will be attending 4-H Camp, June 9-13, 2008. The cost of summer camp will be $120 per camper (meals, lodging, snacks/drinks, and bus transportation). A $50 non-refundable deposit and your completed application will be due in the 4-H Office by April 17th to reserve a spot for you to attend this year's 4-H Camp. RESERVE YOUR SPOT NOW!

2008 Projected Louisiana Rice Production Costs [Image: 2008 Rice Budgets]
This report presents estimates of production costs for rice production in Louisiana for the 2008 crop year. Costs estimates are included for typical rice production systems, including conventional tillage, stale seedbed, production in rotation and fallow, as well as production of conventional and herbicide-resistant varieties. Production cost estimates are also included for soybeans, wheat and sorghum in Southwest Louisiana.
