[Image: 4-H University Picture]Concordia Parish 4-H'ers took top honors in the number attending 4-H University and represented the highest number of blue ribbon winners in the region, according to extension agents Joe P. Bairnsfather and Ada Palermo with the LSU Ag Center’s Concordia Parish office.
Forty 4-H youth attended the 2009 4-H University event held on LSU campus in Baton Rouge. Twenty one of those achieved the honor of receiving blue ribbons by placing in the top portion of their contests' competitors.
Top winners from Concordia 4-H were: Aaron Adair (Automotive-3rd individual/2nd team); Ethan Cannon (Automotive-8th individual/2nd team); Rea Grimmett (Child Development -2nd individual);Alex Thomas (Child Development- 9th individual); Connor Moreland (Compact Tractor-8th individual);Cade Crum (Computer Simulation- 6th team);Jorge Gonzalez (Computer Simulation-6th team);Taylor Morace (Consumer Decision Making-10th team); Kendall Lipsey (Consumer Decision Making- 10th team); Kayleigh Jowers (Horticulture Demo Use-3rd team); Jamie Johnson (Horticulture Demo Use- 3rd team); Ellen Bairnsfather (Meat Identification-4th individual/2nd team); Rebecca Cavin ( Meat Identification-6th individual/2nd team); Guylan Britt (Meat Identification-2nd team); Jake Winston (Meat Identification- 5th team); Jessica McNeil (Meat Identification- 5th team); DeMarco Lewis ( Meat Identification – 5th team).
Other 4-H youth representing Concordia 4-H in state competition were: Elliot Britt-ATV; Caleb Vines- ATV; Drew Brown-Compact Tractor; Marshall Lipsey-Computer Simulation; Clay Burley- Computer Simulation; Sessions Vestal-Consumer Decision Making; Blake Stanley- Consumer Decision Making; Dylan Knapp- Consumer Decision Making; Ethan Allen- Insect Identification; Jacob Lancaster- Insect Identification; Ashley Coco- Photography; Brad Thibodeaux; Barry Williams- Sports Broadcasting; Tyler Davis- Sports Broadcasting; Crystal Bethea- Solutions Unlimited; Andrea Johnson- Solutions Unlimited; Shekeidra Sanders- Solutions Unlimited. Clover College Participants from Concordia were: Jack Aaron Tiffee, Miranda McMurry, Ariel Johnese, Aaron Charpentier, Quavion Ellis, and Alisha Hooper.
