| Concordia 4-H Fun Day Come and join the fun Saturday, October 10, 2009, on the grounds of the Old Courthouse in Vidalia. The Sweet Potato, Pecan and Ground Beef Cookery and the Pet Show contests will be held. Also, we will host a Bicycle and a Pumpkin Carving Workshop. You may participate in one, two or all! Remember, you must pre-register for the Pet Show, Commodity Cookery and the Pumpkin Carving Workshop (limited to 20) by calling the 4-H Office by October 7. |

| [Image: 4-H University Picture]Concordia 4-H Tops Region at 4-H University The Concordia Parish 4-H University delegation recently returned from Baton Rouge after competing for state honors on the LSU campus. Concordia 4-H had 40 youth from the parish participate in this year's event. Concordia led the Central Region with the most 4-H'ers attending and brought home the largest number of top winners. Twenty one Concordia 4-H youth received blue ribbons in their individual/team competitions. |
| [Image: Extension on Display]Extension on Display On Saturday, May 30, Concordia Parish extension presented the opportunity to area residents to participate in "Extension on Display" at Wal-Mart in Vidalia. LSU AgCenter specialists and county agent Glen Daniels were set up in the garden center to answer questions related to gardening, ornamentals, weeds, lawns, grasses and insect control. Concordia's 4-H agents and FCS agent were also on-site with educational activities and distributing pamphlets related to nutrition, health and fitness. |

| Concordia Lunch -N- Learn Have you or a loved one recently been diagnosed with diabetes? Come join our educational luncheon on March 31, 2009 at 12:00. The program will be hosted at the Concordia Parish LSU AgCenter Office in the Old Courthouse on the 3rd floor. "Healthy Living with Diabetes" will be the topic presented. | 2009 4-H Scholarship Application ATTENTION GRADUATING SENIORS! There are several scholarships offered through the State 4-H Program. All scholarships MUST be typed. All 4-H'ers completing an application will be considered for the Scott Foundation Scholarship which is presented to the top applicant in Concordia Parish.
