LSU AgCenter provided an educational opportunity for area residents on May 30 at Walmart in Vidalia. Samples of plants and insects were brought to LSU AgCenter specialists and county agents, Glen Daniels and Dennis Burns, to identify. Residents were given recommendations on how to control these pesky critters, weeds and diseases in their vegetable and flower gardens. 4-H agents Joe Bairnsfather and Ada Palermo and FCS agent Ashley Powell also presented the public with an educational activity called "Labels For Safety," where residents had to identify common household products. Hand washing activities and a display on Healthy Life Styles were enjoyed by those who visited. Agents also provided many handouts and pamphlets on various topics to the residents that visited Extension On Display. Below are some pictures of activities.
