Blueberries

Did you know that you can plant hedges you can eat? Well, it's true. Blueberries can fit into any general home landscape design and can serve as hedges, borders or backgrounds. Blueberries can be a very productive fruit for our area. They are an ideal year-round addition to the landscape with delicate white flowers in the spring, attractive blue fruit in the summer and the possibility of colorful fall foliage. In addition, blueberries are very easy to grow because they have very few insect or disease problems, and pesticides are rarely needed.

New research studies indicate that blueberry, like cranberry, has bacteria-fighting properties that help prevent urinary tract infections.
