East Feliciana Parish 4-H held its annual cooking and clothing contests on Saturday, March 21, 2009. The events were held at Faith Presbyterian Church, north of Clinton.
According to Ursula Shaw and Lauren Kennedy, this year’s contest was a huge success due in part to the variety of dishes the 4-H youth had prepared. The participants in this year’s contests were Ethan Aucoin, Blaine Pierre, Caitlyn Cryar, Clint Cryar, Claire Cryar, Jordan Dinwiddie, Nadia Dinwiddie, Lydia Dinwiddie, Alicia Dinwiddie, Briannna Dinwiddie, Megan Dedon, Cody Dedon, Brittany Dubroc, Jamie Cox, Timothy Hollins, Caleb Reynolds and Joy Reynolds.
The Cookery Contest was divided into four divisions: Egg Cookery (Main Dish, Dessert, and Appetizer/Salad); Seafood (Shrimp, Oyster, Crab Crawfish and Fish and other seafood); Ground Beef and Poultry. Results from the contest were:
Seafood–Crawfish -- Ethan Aucoin, first place, and Caleb Reynolds, second place.
Seafood–Shrimp -- Timothy Hollins, first place, and Cody Dedon, second place.
Seafood--Fish and Other – Ryan Dinwiddie, first place.
Ground Beef – Jamie Cox, first place.
Poultry Processed – Jamie Cox, first place.
Egg Cookery–Main Dish -- Brittany Dubroc, first place.
Egg Cookery-Dessert -- Blaine Pierre, first place.
The Clothing Contest was divided into two areas: Ready to Wear and Sewing Division. The winners were:
Sewing Division -- Nadia Dinwiddie, first place; Brianna Dinwiddie, second place; and Caitlyn Cryar, third place.
Ready to Wear Division – Caitlyn Cryar, first place.
