2008 Evangeline 4-H Fishing Clinic

Eighty-seven 4-H’ers participated in the 2008 Evangeline Parish 4-H Fishing Clinic held Tuesday, March 25th, at Chicot State Park.

These 4-H’ers learned about water safety, fishing supplies, fish identification, fishing techniques, casting, and knot tying as they went through each of the 6 educational sessions. After eating a lunch of bar-b-que burgers and hot dogs prepared by Gerald Roberts the 4-H’ers put into practice what they learned at the fishing tournament.

Assisting 4-H Agents Todd Fontenot and Tina Guillory were session leaders:

Water Safety – Sgt. Scott Fontenot and Sr. Agent Ray Thomas, La. Dept of Wildlife and Fisheries

Fishing Supplies – Extension Agent Keith Fontenot

Fish Identification – Theresa Cross, La. Department of Wildlife and Fisheries

Fishing Techniques – Angie Fusilier – Volunteer 4-H Leader

Casting – Kim Hollier, La. State Arboretum

Knot Tying – Evangeline Parish 4-H Jr. Leaders
