Twenty-five 4-H members from Franklin Parish attended 4-H Camp July 28-Aug 1, 2008 at Grant Walker 4-H Educational Center in Pollock, La. Joining Franklin Parish campers were 4-Her's members from LaSalle, Catahoula, Iberia, Lafayette, Bienville, and Madison parishes.
Activities at camp included canoeing, archery, hunter safety, environmental education and computers, along with swimming, volleyball, softball, basketball, games, and crafts.
4-H members attending from Franklin Parish were Mackenzie Wesberry, Dorien Parks, Savannah Ponder, Amber Howard, Amber Boone, Bianca Brewington, Khaya Kelly, Haley Matthews, Emily Shelton, Hailey Crum, Paige Davis, Ashlyn Williams, Dylan Roberts, Zachary Jones, Aaron Monnin, Adam Crum, Chance Smith, Shaun Shaikh, Darron Mikell, and Trevor Matthews.
Serving as counselors were Kabria Morgan, Alisha Morgan, Sharice Denny, Hudson Smith, and Quinterio Lane. Also attending was 4-H Youth Development Agent, Laura Bradley.
