Northeast District Horse Show

Seven 4-H members represented Franklin Parish at the Northeast District 4-H Horse Show held in the Ike Hamilton Expo Center in West Monroe July 1-2, 2008. Members from the northeast part of the state competed in a variety of events including speeches, demonstrations, halter, performance riding, and speed events. All Seven of the Franklin Parish 4-H members qualified for the State 4-H Horse Show also held at the Ike Hamilton Expo Center in West Monroe July 7-12, 2008.

The results for the District Show follow:

14 and Over Age Division

Taylor Carraway, Franklin Parish High School, received a white ribbon in Stake Race, a white ribbon in Pole Bending, a purple ribbon in Miniature Horse Geldings, All Ages, a red ribbon in Barrel Racing, a blue ribbon in AOB & Grade Horse Geldings, All Ages, and a blue ribbon in AOB & Grade Horse Mares, All Ages.

Alarie Brown, Franklin Parish High School, received a white ribbon in Stake Race, a blue ribbon in Pole Bending, and a red ribbon in Barrel Racing.

Sierra Hendry, Franklin Parish High School, received a blue ribbon in Pole Bending, a red ribbon in Barrel Racing, a blue ribbon in Western Horsemanship, a blue ribbon in Western Riding, a blue ribbon in Trail, a red ribbon in Western Showmanship, and a blue ribbon in AOB & Grade Horse Mares, All ages.

Chelsey Campbell, Franklin Parish High School, received a purple ribbon in Barrel Racing.

Thirteen and Under Age Division

Katie Johnston, Fort Necessity Jr. High, received a white ribbon in Stake Race, a red ribbon in Pole Bending, and a red ribbon in Barrel Racing.

Sarah Ford, Fort Necessity Jr. High, received a purple ribbon in Stake Race, a purple ribbon in Pole Bending, a blue ribbon in Barrel Racing, and a red ribbon in AOB & Grade Horse Mares, All ages.

Kathryn O'Neal, Fort Necessity Jr. High, received a white ribbon in Pole Bending, and a purple ribbon in Appaloosa Horse Geldings, All Ages.
