Grant Parish holds Nutrition Camp
[Image: Kid Chef Nutrition Camp]Kid Chef Nutrition Camp 2008 was a collarboration between 4-H and Family & Consumer Sciences divisions of the LSU AgCenter Grant Parish Extension. Thirteen participants took part in a four day workshop held in Colfax, Louisiana at the Grant Parish Extension office on June 24-27, 2008.
Children learned life skills such as basic cooking, food safety, kitchen safety and the importance of a healthy diet and exercise. Kids tried new and different foods and learned all about the USDA's Food Guide Pyramid.
On the final day of camp, a birthday celebration for 4-H's 100 year was held. Parents came in to sample the food exhibited by the children.
