2009 Challenge Camp Seventh-grade 4-H members from around Iberia Parish recently were given the opportunity to experience 4-H Challenge Camp. 4-H Challenge Camp allows youth to experience various challenges from a hands-on approach. |

2009 National 4-H WHEP Competition A Louisiana 4-H team placed fifth overall in the National 4-H Wildlife Habitat Evaluation Program. Team members were Micah Patout and Ridge Miguez of Iberia Parish, Jeremy Dixon of West Feliciana Parish and Deanna Jason of West Baton Rouge Parish. Sixteen teams from across the United States attended the competition, in which participants were introduced to a tract of land and asked to identify the practices they would use to manage wildlife. |
2009 Junior Wildlife Tour Twelve 4-H members in grades 4-8 were selected statewide for the 2009 Junior Wildlife Tour. 4-H record books on Discovering 4-H, wildlife, environment, insects and aquaculture were submitted as part of the competition. The trip was held in August of 2009 at the LUMCON (Louisiana Universities Marine Consortium) facility in Fouchon. Iberia 4-H'ers Florencia Scaglia, Andrew Picheloup and Brennan Trahan were selected to attend along with LSU AgCenter 4-H agent Monique Sanchez. |
