2009 Sugarcane Ripener Recommendations

Please find attached “Sugarcane Ripener Recommendations for 2009”. Also included is a harvest schedule guide for your convenience. This is a collaborative effort between researchers at the LSU Ag Center (Legendre, Gravois, Bischoff & Griffin) and the USDA-ARS (Richard, Viator & Dalley). Please note that Polado is no longer recommended although, if available, can still be used. Hopefully you find the recommendations user friendly. You might want to note that we are suggesting that additional surfactant be used even though the formulations recommended are loaded.

Additionally, the Sugarcane Variety ID Guide is attached to assist with identification of the numerous varieties that are in production on your operations.
