Mexican Rice Borer

Description:
The Mexican Rice Borer is a pest of rice, sugarcane and other similar crops such as sorghum. It was first collected in Louisiana in December 2008 near the town of Vinton. It has not been identified in Louisiana Sugarcane, but it is something we must all be on the look out for. See attached for background information.
