The LSU AgCenter welcomed a new employee at the local Iberville Parish Extension office on November 1, 2008. Ms. Ashly Pitre, a native of Thibodaux, LA, will be serving local Iberville Parish youth in the capacity of Extension Agent through the 4-H Youth Development Program. Growing up, Ashly and her family farmed sugarcane and raised hogs and Hereford cattle. Currently they own a registered Angus cattle ranch and also raise Boer goats. As an active 4-H’er throughout her school years, Ashly attributes her life skills and success to the 4-H Youth Development Program.
Ms. Pitre, a resident of Thibodaux, is also active in the Louisiana Cattlemen’s Association and the Louisiana Farm Bureau Federation. She recently graduated from Louisiana State University where she received a Bachelors of Science Degree in Animal Science with a concentration in Dairy Production. Ashly plans to start working toward her Masters of Human Resource Education and Workforce Development beginning in the fall of 2009. She enjoys working with children and is passionate for agriculture. The Iberville Parish office staff members are excited to welcome Ashly to their team.
