[Image: 4-Hers win Scholarships]Three Jeff Davis Parish seniors received 4-H Scholarships for 2009. These scholarships were awarded based on outstanding 4-H project work, leadership and academics. These graduates all have been 4-H members for nine years, have served as camp counselors and Junior Leader Club officers, have been winners at 4-H University and have participated in numerous 4-H projects. Recipients were honored at their schools' graduation ceremonies. Receiving 4-H scholarships were:
--Caroline Watkins from Welsh High School, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carson Watkins of Welsh, received a Louisiana 4-H Foundation Scholarship for $100 and an LSU Baton Rouge Scholarship for $300. [Image: 4-Hers win Scholarships]Caroline will be attending Louisiana State University this fall.
--Kristina Moore from Welsh High School, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Moore of Roanoke, received the Gerry Lane Enterprise Scholarship for $800 and an LSU Baton Rouge Scholarship for $300. Kristina will be attending Louisiana State University this fall.
--Elizabeth Guinn from J[Image: 4-Hers win Scholarships]ennings, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Guinn, received the Lod Cook Scholarship for $500 and the Scott Truck and Tractor Co. Scholarship for $1,500. Elizabeth will be attending McNeese State University this fall.
