[Image: Jr. Leader Get Acquainted Party]Jeff Davis Jr. Leaders kick off the new year
The 2009-2010 school year was kicked off by the Jeff Davis 4-H Jr. Leaders on August 24, 2009, under the barn at the Jeff Davis Parish Fairgrounds. This get-aquainted social was conducted by the Jr. Leader officers and members to recruit new members. The dust and dirt were flying as the members competed in many activities, including lawn mower races, ships and sailors and three-legged races. These activities taught the[Image: Jr. Leader Get Acquainted Party] youth teamwork and communication skills as well as allowed them to socialize and have fun. State 4-H President Brandon Guillory was also in attendance to update the youth on state 4-H happenings. Food and beverages were served courtesy of James and Laurie Guinn of Port Aggregates. This event included over 50 youth ages 13-18 from all over Jeff Davis Parish. The Jeff Davis Jr. Leaders will focus on getting “4-H EVEN GREENER” with numerous activities this school year.
