[Image: 4-H Day at the Capital]More than 1,600 4-H'ers, parents, volunteers and agents attend the 8th Annual 4-H Day at the Capitol on Wednesday, June 3, 2009. The day began with an assembly on the state Capitol steps. Several legislators, including Rep. Johnny Guinn, and LSU AgCenter administrators spoke to the group during the 45-minute assembly. Representative Guinn recognized the delegation and agents from Jeff Davis Parish.
4-H'ers attending received T-shirts sponsored by LSU AgCenter Chancellor Richardson, Vice Chancellor Paul Coreil and the Louisiana 4-H Foundation. 4-H'ers viewed exhibits and booths in the rotunda of the Capitol, as well toured the[Image: 4-H Day at the Capital] observation deck of the building. Jeff Davis 4-H'ers met and visited with Rep. Johnny Guinn and Sen. Dan Morrish. 4-Hers thanked them for their support of 4-H programming as well as presented them each with a gift and fact sheet about Jeff Davis Parish 4-H. 4-Hers received a tour of the Capitol including watching the state Senate and state House of Representatives in session. Following the visit to the Capitol 4-H'ers took an educational tour in Baton Rouge. The Jeff Davis delegation included Gabrielle Briscoe, Madalyn Pousson, Ali Moore, 4-H leader Kim Briscoe and 4-H agent Kori Myers.
