A continuation of the total remake of the successful 4-H Mini Farm is planned for April 21-27, 2009, at the John M. Parker Coliseum. The event is called AgMagic. This is an opportunity for individuals, families and schools to experience the benefits of real-world agriculture.

4-H The Original Green, the new Louisiana 4-H service-learning Web site

This summer a group of 4-H’ers sat around dreaming and planning for a state wide service-learning project. We wanted a project that could have some effect on every mile of the state; as far north as Shreveport, and as far south as New Orleans. Many great ideas were thrown out on the table but we decided to go green! After all, 4-H is the Original Green!

(Distributed 11/12/08) The Louisiana 4-H Meat Judging Team won seventh place overall at the 2008 American Royal Livestock Show National 4-H Meat Evaluation and Identification Contest held Oct. 28 at Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kan.

Featured activities included the 4-H Express, the Ark-La-Tex Ag Council Junior Livestock Sale, the launch of a new children’s Web site, a Platoon Patrol skit for pre-schoolers and a Louisiana 4-H Foundation drawing for $10,000.
