Lafourche Parish Celebrates 4-H Centennial

Celebrate 100 years of 4-H in Louisiana throughout 2008 with Lafourche Parish. Each month the centennial celebration is incorporated in special activities throughout the parish with an Alumni Reunion set for April 19 at the Raceland Fair Building from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Come celebrate 100 years with us!!!

4-H Poultry Day Contest

This year's Poultry Day Contest will be held December 1, 2007 at the Fair Building in Raceland beginning at 9:00 a.m. Contest will include: Poultry and Egg Cookery, Live Broiler, Chicken Queing, Dairy Cattle Judging, Livestock Judging, Poultry Judging, Exhibition Poultry, Dog Show and Pet Show.

Come join the fun at this year's Sugar and Seafood Contest on November 3, 2007, at Galliano Elementary School with registration from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. and the contest beginning at 10:00 a.m. While the judging is taking place, 4-H'ers will have the opportunity to participate in activities such as Sew with Cotton, Backyard Bass, Bicycle, Food Ball, How to do a Demonstration and Fish Printing.
