This year's Lafourche Poultry Day Contest will be held December 6, 2008, at the Agriculture Building in Raceland beginning at 9 a.m. Contests will include: Poultry and Egg Cookery, Live Broiler, Chicken Queing, Dairy Cattle Judging, Livestock Judging, Poultry Judging, Exhibition Poultry, Dog Show and Pet Show.

This year's Lafourche Parish Sew with Cotton Contest will be held in conjunction with the Sugar and Seafood Contest on November 1 at Galliano Elementary. The Sew with Cotton Contest begins at 9 a.m.

The Lafourche Parish 4-H Sugar and Seafood Contest is our most popular 4-H food preparation contest. Members prepare dishes using two of our main products -- sugar and seafood. They recognize not only the nutritional benefits but the economic importance of sugar and seafood. This year's contest will be held at Galliano Elementary November 1 with registration beginning at 9 a.m. and the contest starting at 10 a.m.
