2008-2009 LaSalle Smart Bodies Program Goodpine Middle & Olla Elementary schools were part of the Smart Bodies program sponsored by the LSU AgCenter and the Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Louisiana Foundation. Teachers and students worked to improve health through exercise and eating healthy. Coordinating the program locally was Kim Evans, extension agent. Smart Bodies includes three components: the Take 10! Classroom program, the Organ Wise Guys and eating healthy. A total of 612 students particpated in the program.
