During the 2009-2010 school year, Lincoln Parish 4-H Club members will receive educational programming in a group setting that promotes belonging, independence, generosity and mastery. The educational module we will present this year is “Coastal Creatures.” We are encouraging the youth of Lincoln Parish to become good stewards of the environment of our whole state and helping them to realize that they are not only a citizen of their street, town or parish, but, most importantly, a citizen of the state of Louisiana. If the environment of our whole state is not healthy, then we will not be healthy. Club members will learn that we rely on the environment of our state for so many reasons and that we should take an active part in taking care of it. More specific to Lincoln Parish, we also will encourage conservation of the Sparta Aquifer, our depleting water source.
