[Image: c]The great Madison Parish 4-H Centennial Birthday Bash is happening on May 21 at the Richmond Community Center. This is a special event marking our 100th anniversary of 4-H in Louisiana! We have a lot exciting events planned for the day, including a Fried Fish Plate Dinner fundraiser and a raffle for a Cajun Fish Cooker donated by Madison Farm Bureau. We’ll also have 4-H Club displays, hands-on activities, a 4-H Birthday Cake Decorating Contest and a special recognition program for our 4-H Hall of Fame inductees. There’ll also be drawings for door prizes and recognition for the many other volunteer efforts on behalf of Madison 4-H Clubs.
In addition, we’re looking for Madison Parish 4-H Alumni to highlight on our TIMELINE – History of Madison Parish 4-H. If were a former 4-H member, or have friends or family who were, we would love to borrow any pictures or other 4-H memorabilia to display at the event. Do you still have your 4-H Record Book? Or maybe a T-shirt from a favorite camp or conference? Pictures, news articles, trophies or awards? What great fun it will be to displays these items along the timeline and remember the outstanding achievements and incredible contributions in 4-H! All items will be returned promptly after the event. Photos and news articles may be scanned or copied to preserve the originals.
We’re also seeking volunteers to cover all the bases during this important event. You can pitch in to help for one or more of the following:
· Sell Fried Fish Dinner tickets at $6 each.
· Sell raffle tickets at $1 each for a large Cajun Fish Cooker donated by Farm Bureau.
· Sign up to help serve plates or make deliveries to area business.
· Set up decorations and meal service supplies for people who will be dining in.
· Serve as a contest judge.
· Seek donations to help defer costs for food and supplies.
· Provide meal delivery service for are businesses.
· Sign up for a committee to manage the Alumni Search, Time Line History of Madison Parish, Add a Candle to the Cake, 100 4-H Balloon Release or serve on the Special Program Committee.
· Work on a Club Display highlighting Who’s Who in 4-H in your club.
· Write news articles, make posters and flyers to publicize the event.
