4-H Goes Wet & Wild

End-of-the-year trips are always anticipated with anxious excitement, but the annual 4-H Blue Bayou trip takes fun to a breathtaking super-dimension.

A busload of 38 Madison Parish youth and adults took advantage of the cool waters and breezy rides to battle the overwhelming June heat on the 17th for the all-day event.

Youth and adults alike enjoyed the variety of water slides, pools and amusement rides available. At most anytime during the day, many could be found in the wave pool having fun with friends and riding the waves.

The trip is open to all 4-H members in grades 4-12 as well as parent and community volunteers. 4-H is the youth development and outreach program of the nation’s Land-Grant University System, and it is operated in Louisiana through the LSU AgCenter. The 4-H program attempts to provide learning experiences and involvement in activities that teach young people the life skills and values they need to be better citizens and future leaders.
