Pointe Coupee 4-H Recognizes 2010 Scholarship Winners Each year Pointe Coupee 4-H, along with the LSU AgCenter, award outstanding high school seniors with scholarships to the school of their choice. Alanna Williams and Taylor LeJeune were this year's proud 2010 scholarship recipients. 2010 4-H Day at the Capitol [Image: 4-H'ers with Representative Thibaut] The LSU AgCenter held its ninth annual 4-H Day at the Capitol June 2, 2010. Approximately 1,200 4-H’ers and volunteer leaders from across Louisiana traveled to Baton Rouge for the activities – which included a rally on the Capitol steps, meetings with legislators, learning more about the legislative process, touring the Capitol and seeing the legislature in action. Pointe Coupee 4-H'er Named State Winner in Essay Contest [Image: Honey Bee Essay Contestant] Kiah Ford, a 5th Grade student at Valverda Elementary, was named a state blue ribbon winner in the 2010 Honey Bee Essay Contest. 2010 Pointe Coupee 4-H Elementary Achievement Day [Image: 4th Grade Outstanding 4-H'ers] Elementary students from around Pointe Coupee gathered at the Scott Civic Center on May 12, 2010 to attend 4-H Achievement Day. Students participated in speech and demonstration contests, educational activities and team building exercises all while enjoying a fun day outside of the classroom.
