2009 4-H University

Red River Parish 4-H’ers Alicia Walsworth, Zachary Gibson and Dustie Rambin (D.J.) attended 4-H University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, June 22-26 on the campus of Louisiana State University.

4-H’ers were allowed to explore the LSU campus and participate in events that included competitions for trips and prizes, educational activities, and personal development sessions, as well as interviews for the Food and Fitness Board, Fashion Board and Tech Board. The election of state officers and district representatives to the State Executive Committee also were held during 4-H University. Each evening there was an assembly in the Pete Marivich Assembly Center where 4-H’ers participated in special events followed by music, dancing and hanging out with friends.

Red River 4-H’ers participated in the following competitions: Alicia Walsworth, Fashion Review-Ready to Wear, where she placed ninth. Zachary Gibson and Dustie Rambin, Meat Evaluation Judging and Identification.

4-H University is held each year on the LSU campus, where more than 2,000 4-H’ers and volunteer leaders come together for great competition and fun.
