Local 4-H’er wins Scholarships

Red River Parish 4-H’er Dustie Rambin (D.J.), was chosen to receive two scholarships and was named an alternate for two others from the Louisiana 4-H Foundation. Rambin graduated in 2009 from Saline High School.

Each year the Louisiana 4-H Foundation recognizes high school graduates who have excelled in 4-H project work, community service, leadership and academic work through the Louisiana 4-H scholarship program.

Rambin was awarded the Louisiana 4-H Foundation Parish Scholarship, which is given to a Red River Parish 4-H’er, and the C.J. Naquin Leadership Scholarship,  which was established in 1989 to honor the former state 4-H agent and executive director of the Louisiana 4-H Foundation. In other recognition, she was named the Bruce Flint Scholarship second alternate and the Carl and Beaulah Baldridge Scholarship first alternate.

In Rambin’s application for the scholarships, she states, "The 4-H program has helped shape my perspective, develop my talents and life skills. 4-H has opened new doors and given me abilities to help me achieve my hopes and dreams for the future.”

She plans to attend Northwestern State Universtiy.
