On Thursday, July 31, 2008, area 4-H’ers enjoyed painting 4-H Clovers and filming a commercial that will air for the 2008 State Fair of Louisiana. The State Fair provided lunch for everyone participating.
Red River Parish 4-H’ers attending were Kade Anderson, Atlanta Brown, Rae Lynn Brown, Justin Dupree, Steven Jones, Yancy LeGrande, Tyler McCartney, Darrell McLemore, Jr., Terez Moore, D. J. Rambin and Gretchen Shaver. Special thanks goes to 4-H volunteers Erica Anderson, Christie McCartney, Diane McLemore, Nancy Nettles and Jo Rambin, who helped to make this trip possible.
The 2008 State Fair of Louisiana will celebrate 100 years of 4-H achievement in Louisiana. 4-H Day at the State Fair will be Wednesday, October 29, 2008, 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., at the multi-purpose tent located next to the front gate. There will be numerous activities for everyone and 4-H’ers can purchase $10.00 armbands to ride unlimited Lowery Carnival rides.
