Richland Students Visit with Representative Charles "Bubba" Chaney

4-H'ers from across the state gathered on the steps of the Louisiana State Capitol on June 6 to learn more about state government and the people who represent them. The event was designed to give 4-H'ers a chance to meet their legislators, visit with other club members from across the state, see the legislative process in action and learn a little more about how state government works. The Richland Parish group visited with Senator Francis Thompson and Representative Bubba Chaney.

LSU AgCenter launches new 4-H Web site aimed at 4th-6th graders
(Distributed 10/22/08) A new Web site, Louisiana 4-H Kids’ Clubhouse, will be officially launched at the State Fair of Louisiana on Oct. 29 during 4-H Fun Day, according to Mark Tassin, director of 4-H and youth programs at the LSU AgCenter. The site at www.4-Hclubhouse.com is tailored to fourth through sixth graders and features nearly a hundred games, quizzes, downloadable activities and videos.

"Learn by doing" is the 4-H club slogan. 4-H members don't just read about things; they do them.
