* It is time to start thinking about the broiler project for the State Fair of Louisiana! The broiler chicks will be straight run this year. The chicks are to be picked up on Thursday, Sept. 10, 2009, and I will send specific pickup information in a later memo. Contact me for an entry form to be returned no later than August 5. The cost will be 35 cents per chick, payable to “Louisiana Poultry Federation.” Be sure to include payment with your order. Judging for the State Fair of Louisiana will be on Friday, Oct. 23, 2009. At the show, exhibitors will be allowed to show a pen of cockerels and a pen of pullets. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call me at 318-728-3216.
