Join 2,000 other 4-H Junior Leaders at 4-H University. Experience what it is like to live in a college dorm room and explore the LSU campus. The events include competition for trips and prizes, educational activities, personal development sessions and guest speakers, as well as interviews for the Food and Fitness Board, Fashion Board and Tech Board. The election of State Officers and District Representatives to the State Executive Committee also is held during 4-H University. Each evening there is an assembly in the Pete Marivich Assembly Center where 4-H’ers participate in special events followed by music, dancing and hanging out with friends.
4-H’ers who participate in 4-H University can choose to participate in a competition from more than 36 subject areas including public speaking, decision making, computer science, dog care, fashion, ATV, bicycle and many other topics. Contest participants will also participate in educational sessions and community service projects.
Clover College is designed for 4-H’ers who want to participate in intensive workshops on topics such as Exploring the World of Sports, Team Building, Forensic Science, Performing Arts, Community Service and Camp Counselor Training. If you choose to participate in Clover College you will spend Wednesday and Thursday participating in these exciting workshops.
4-H University is open to all youth who have turned 13 years old before January 1, 2009. The cost to attend 4-H University is about $80. This includes three nights in the dorms, registration fee and a T-shirt. 4-H’ers will have to bring spending money for meals each day and anything else they want to purchase on campus.
