National 4-H Week
| [Image: Proclamation] | | [Image: Proclamation] | | In recognition of National 4-H Week and Celebrating the Louisiana 4-H Centennial, St. Bernard Parish 4-H Agents and Jr. Leaders received a proclamation from the St. Bernard Parish Council at the October 7th Council Meeting. The Proclamation read, "By the virtue of the authority vested in us as the governing body of the Parish of St. Bernard we do herby proclaim October 5-11, 2008 as National 4-H Week. Celebrating 100 years of 4-H in Louisiana 1908-2008 and recognizing the valuable contributions made to youth and community development in St. Bernard"
St. Bernard Parish Jr. Leaders opened the meeting by leading the Pledge of Allegiance and reciting the 4-H Pledge for Council Members. After the proclamation was read and voted upon by the Council, Jr. Leaders presented Council Members along with Parish Government Officials with 4-H Centennial lapel pins. Council Chair woman Polly Boudreax congratulated the 4-H group by saying "4-H club members and staff have made significant contributions to the recovery of St. Bernard Parish and remain a partner in the development of future leaders in St. Bernard."
