The Cloverbud program fosters youth development and creates a positive learning environment. It helps young children meet their four basic needs: belonging, mastery, independence and generosity. Because each child develops on his or her own timetable, it is very important that organized activities be tailored to the developmental level of the children who participate so that all can experience success. More information is available by clicking here.

Cloverbuds are the youngest participants in the 4-H Club program. They are energetic, creative and want to learn. This is clearly evident by the activities in which St. Helena Parish Cloverbuds participate.

During the past year, St. Helena Parish 4-H Cloverbuds have participated in community service projects by visiting the local nursing home where they went trick-or-treating in costume, read books and distributed bananas to the residents of the home, did arts and crafts, and decorated doors and sang during the Christmas season.

Cloverbuds also prepared food boxes for delivery to seniors in the community, participated in the local Mardi Gras parade, the cookery contest and the livestock show. They also had fun trying to catch 'backyard bass' to improve their fishing skills. In the world at large, they helped in the community garden and attended 4-H Day at the Capitol.

From the many activities listed above, one can see the 4-H Cloverbuds program in St. Helena Parish provides a wide selection of activities and an exciting introduction into the 4-H club experience. An enrollment card is required for participation in the program. For more information on Cloverbud activiites in St. Helena Parish, contact Sonni Karl King or Anglea Myles at 225-222-4136.
