Shooting Sports Leader Training

[Image: Shooting Sports]Leader training for the 4-H Shooting Sports program will be held at the Southeast Research Station, 41217 Bethel Road, Franklinton, Louisiana, August 28-29, 2009. The station is located about 18 miles east of Amite toward Franklinton. All shooting will be done on the station grounds.

Check-in is at 5 p.m. on Friday followed by supper and an introductory class. Saturday's classes begin at 8 a.m. Breakfast and lunch will be provided on Saturday day.

This LSU AgCenter training is for adults 21 and older (18 years old for archery) in shotgun, rifle, pistol and archery disciplines.  Attendance at the entire course is required for certification.

The cost of the course is $40 for first-time leaders and $25 for leaders who have already gone through the course. This fee includes books, instructional material, shooting supplies and meals. Fees must be paid in advance. No refunds will be provided.

Lodging will not be provided. Reservations can be made at Comfort Inn (Amite),  985-748-5550, or Liberty Inn (Franklinton), 985-839-4443.
