The St. Landry Parish Junior Leadership Club offers an outlet for older 4-H members wanting to join other youth from various backgrounds and schools to share ideas, get involved in community service projects, meet new friends and participate in educational activities geared towards their age groups (7th-12th Grade).

St. Landry Parish 4-H Junior Leadership Club enrollment begins during regular 4-H enrollment at the September 4-H club meetings. Enrollment forms may be found in the September 4-H Chatterbox newsletter, or one may be requested from the St. Landry Extension Office.

Participation in the end-of-year trip is dependent upon the junior leader's year-long participation in the various 4-H activities and meetings. A point system will determine who is eligible for the trip.

This summer, eligible Junior Leaders were offered a chance to enjoy a few days of camping at the Wildlife and Fisheries Camp in Woodworth, LA. They participated in canoeing, a night hike, a scavenger hunt, a museum visit, cook outs, archery and shooting activities.
