NO CLUB MEETINGS IN DECEMBER!!!!!

IMPORTANT NOTE!!!! December 2 – Talent show entries MUST be turned in by 4:30 p.m. *****If you have not turned in your name or names for the Talent Show by December 2, 2008 at 4:30 p.m. you will not be able to enter the Talent Show!!!***

December 8 - Seafood Cookery / Talent Contest, Amite Elementary, 6 p.m.— New Rules On Next Tangi Clover

Penny Fund Raiser: Purpose - to raise money for Parish to help assist in paying for camps 4-H University, trophies, ribbons, achievement day and any other activities offered through the 4-H program. Points will be given for overall winner in each Division. One overall 4-H club winner will be awarded a grand prize at Achievement Day. This money must be turned into the 4-H office no later than your March club meeting. When you turn your money in for this make sure it is in the form of a CHECK please, THANKS!

Drug Free 4-H Clubs: Drug Free and Master Drug Free 4-H clubs are being organized in the parish. To be recognized as a drug free club, members must sign a petition that says they will remain drug free and clubs must submit an original anti-drug slogan with their signed petition. Clubs may become a Master Drug Free club by completing these requirements and conducting at least 3 activities during the year that promotes staying drug free. This will give you points and you have until Record and Project Books are due into our Office.

Officer Leader Training: Our 4-H Officer/Leader training will be at the Amite High School auditorium, October 29, 2008 at 1:00 p.m.. There will be training for Presidents, Vice-Presidents, Secretaries, Treasurers and Reporters. 4-H=ers who attend will receive participation points for their club. 4-H Leaders and Volunteers will also receive training and materials for their clubs. We are looking forward to seeing each of you there!

Best 4-H Club Meeting: After officers have been trained, their ability to conduct club meetings will be judged at the November club meetings. Criteria for judging will be the way business is conducted, club and educational programs, and behavior of the members. Certificates will be awarded to the Best 4th Grade, Elementary, Junior High and High School 4-H clubs. Points will be given.

Sewing Workshop: We will be having a sewing workshop again this year. The workshop will be November 24, 2008 from 9 a.m. til 12 noon at the office in Amite, details to follow.

Bike Hike: $2.00 per participant! November 25, 2008 starting at 10:00 a.m. on. See leader for the entry form which includes all instructions needed.
