Club Program for April: The program for the April TVFC Chapter will be given by Kathy Mauthe, she will be attending your meeting.

Upcoming Events:

April 21 - 23 – LVFC Convention, New Iberia
April 15 - Annual Scholarship applications due to Mitzi Verberne
May 6 - 4-H Achievement Day, Florida Parishes Arena, 9:00 a.m.
May 20- TVFC Council meeting and Awards luncheon, Methodist Church in Amite.
Registration will be 9:30 a.m. and the meeting will start at 10:00 a.m. *(your adwards luncheon letter states 9:30 a.m. meeting but the meeting will begin at 10:00 a.m.)

Club News: Wednesday Volunteers: The March 4th meeting of the Wednesday VFC was held at the home of Carol Campo. Her lovely home was decorated in festive St. Patrick's Day style. Members were greeted by co-hostesses Kathy Watkins and Hilda Alfonso. Presidents Faith Landwehr and Cathy Neyland conducted the meeting. Nell Dubose gave the invocation. Seventeen members were present. Very informative opening was presented by Carol Campo, titled, “By Pass Your Diet.” She explained the importance of using low fat substitutes including using more milk in our diet. In Julia Humphrey’s absence, Sue Nelson gave the treasure’s report. Anna Mae reported on several club members,who are ill. Literacy chair Laurie Folse read an insightful article titled, “See Spot Run” about children reading skills improve when they read to their pets. Family Life chair Marie Swinney delivered 95 magazines to area homes and hospitals. Environmental chair Kathy Watkins handed out log sheets explaining how to track their recyclables. International chair Joan Smith reported that only one country will be profiled for International Day. Kathy Watkins asked members to secure door prizes for the Holiday Idea’s Workshop and encouraged suggestions on a speaker. Mary Lou Batty reported on the Volunteer Luncheon. It will be held on May 20. Members will receive an invitation by mail. Margaret Dettwiller will be in charge of Spring Garden Day in place of Faith. Mitzi will help sell cookbooks and raffle tickets at the event. Members agreed to help support the Great Strides for Cystic Fibrous Walk held at North Oaks Park. Donna Bouterie will be our link to the event to be held in April. Several members will attend the convention including first timers Nell Dubose and Hilda Alfonso.
