4-H Camp 2009

[Image: Camp phote]"Camp Grant Walker - It'll Grow On You!" was this year's theme for the summer 4-H camping experience at Grant Walker 4-H Educational Center near Pollock, La.

Tensas 4-H'ers recently spent a week with youngsters from throughout the state. These young people had the opportunity to appreciate the outdoors, live together as a group, get along with others and appreciate people with different interests and backgrounds.

Campers were allowed to choose from and participate in one of five tracks: dramatic arts, nutrition and fitness, outdoor skills, science, engineering and technology and Louisiana's wetlands. They also had recreation time to participate in such activities as swimming, canoeing, kickball, volleyball, bicycling, arts and crafts, and board games.

Evening programs were filled with skits, talent shows, vespers, dances and special guests.  Youth from Tensas Elementary, Tensas Academy, Tensas High School and Newellton Elementary enjoyed spending the week together.
