Classroom Pumpkin Patch Created

[Image: Classroom with pumpkin patch]Southern University and LSU AgCenter employees share information about growing pumpkins with Patsy Pearson's and Barbara Fedieck's kindergarten classes at Marion High School.

Odis Hill, assistant county agent, Morehouse/Union parishes talked to the classes about growing pumpkins and provided each student a pumpkin from his garden to take home. Carol Remy, Union Parish extension agent, read two stories about pumpkins to the classes. They were: The Old Woman Not Scared of Anything, an interactive story about a Jack-o-lantern that became a scarecrow, and The Biggest Pumpkin Ever, a story about growing the largest pumpkin for the town contest.
