November Old and New Business Cutouts

Cut and have 4-H’ers read during the meeting. Use only the business that pertains to your club.


OLD BUSINESS:

The Alice Lancon Memorial Cooking Contest was held October 9 during the Louisiana Cattle Festival. Those from our club who participated and their placings were:

NEW BUSINESS

REMINDER - The Parish Clothing Contest will be held Thursday, November 19 at Abbeville High School at 6:00 p.m. Garments are to be turned in at the 4-H Office by Friday, November 13.


NEW BUSINESS:

The Parish 4-H Personal Development Contest will be held on Thursday, November 19, at 6:00 p.m. at Abbeville High School. All 4-H'ers are encouraged to participate. 4-H'ers should be well groomed for this activity. Each member will be interviewed and should show good manners, a friendly personality, and be at ease with the judges.


NEW BUSINESS: (Eighth-12th graders only)

The 4-H Engineering Contest will be held on Tuesday, November 24, at the 4-H office beginning at 9:30 a.m. Check your Cracklins for more details. An ATV Contest will take place that day. The tractor driving and compact tractor driving contests are 4-H University qualifying contests for Ninth-12th graders. The ATV contest is a 4-H University qualifying contest for Eighth-12th graders.


NEW BUSINESS:

The 4-H Dog and Pet Show will be held at the 4-H office on Monday, November 23. All 4 H'ers who own and care for a dog or pet are encouraged to compete. Registration is at 8:30 a.m., the contests begin at 9:00 a.m. Refer to the information given in this month’s Cracklins. 


NEW BUSINESS:

The 4-H Bike Rodeo will be held at the 4-H office on Monday, November 23. The rodeo is open to all 4-H Club members in the Fourth through 12th grades, regardless of projects. A participant must compete in all 5 events to be eligible for a ribbon. For best results, it's suggested that you bring your own bike. Refer to the information given in this month’s Cracklins. This is a 4-H University qualifying contest for Eighth-12th graders.



NEW BUSINESS:

A Rice and Sugar Cookery Contest will be held on Monday, November 23. Check your Cracklins for the rules for this contest.



NEW BUSINESS:

The parish 4-H Electric Clinic will be held on Wednesday, December 16, at the 4-H office at 6:00 p.m. Order blanks must be filled out and return to Mr. Hilton with payment by Thursday, November 19, 2009.
