Amanda Basco, graduating Senior from Simpson High School recently received the Louisiana 4-H Foundation Scholarship and the Vernon Parish 4-H Scott Truck and Tractor Scholarships. Both scholarships are based on leadership, community service and project achievement. Amanda has been a very active 4-H member for the past 10 years earning numerous honors and bringing positive recognition to Vernon Parish especially in the area of service learning. Some of these projects include Ronald McDonald House, March of Dimes, Cystic Fibrosis and the "From Our Hearts to Their Hands, Neighbors Helping Neighbors - Hurricane Relief project which brought National recognition to Vernon Parish.
