Eat the Rainbow!

Eating a variety of colorful fruits and vegetables each week ensures that we get the proper nutrients from foods that we eat! MyPyramid recommends children eat 1½-2½ cups of vegetables and 1-2 cups of fruits every day. One serving equals ½ cup of cut-up raw or cooked fruits or veggies, 1 cup leafy salad greens or ½ cup 100 percent fruit or vegetable juice.

Try these great foods with your family:

      Yellow Pineapple, Banana, Corn, Squash

Orange – Oranges, Cantaloupe, Carrots, Pumpkin, Sweet Potatoes

Red – Strawberries, Apples, Cherries, Tomatoes, Red Beans, Beets

Green – Kiwi, Grapes, Broccoli, Spinach, Romaine Lettuce, Green Peas

Blue/Purple – Blueberries, Grapes, Plums, Purple Cabbage
