The YWCA in Bogalusa held its annual Summer Camp June 15-19, 2009.
The LSU AgCenter was a featured partner in offering programming to the children attending the camp. Emily Becnel, 4-H Agent, and Valerie Vincent, FCS Agent, held sessions.
In attendance were 75 children and 12 counselors. This year we focused on healthy eating in hard economic times and emphasized the MyPyramid food guide. Everyone seemed to enjoy the wonderful snacks and activities. The children received educational information and enjoyed hands-on activities.
