The Fair is Less than a Month Away - 96th Year - "The Fair - A Family Tradition"

The 96th Washington Parish Free Fair is right upon us. Let me share something with you that many of us just take for granted. The fair does not just happen by itself. It takes a tremendous amount of time, work, effort and other activities by VOLUNTEERS to make the fair the great event that it is. So, while you get ready to join the many activities, remember all the volunteers who make this event possible. And yes, the family has always been the key to its tradition and will be for years to come.

While you are at the fair, and this is especially true for parents of young children, yellow jackets are on the prowl. They will be with us until first frost. Their food sources are dwindling and they do not mind looking for any food source available. If you buy a canned drink, do not drink without checking for yellow jackets after opening. It could save you a trip to the hospital.
