The Lawn - Heat Stress

Has your lawn recovered from the stress of the past several weeks? With some rain in the area, I have noticed some good recovery in some lawns but questionable recovery on others. Remember, centipede will be stressed by hot, dry conditions, and only water will make it recover. St. Augustine and other lawn grasses will suffer from lack of water, but centipede will be affected the most. A good soaking of water, 1 inch of water, will give you moisture down to about 6 to 8 inches below ground level. The watering should be done early morning, but no later than 10 a.m., because of trans-evaporation later in the day.
