If you are 16 years old or older and active in 4-H, do not miss this opportunity! If selected, you will be provided a free trip to Washington, D.C., where you will visit with congressmen and senators, tour government agencies and sites of historical significance, and be able to meet other students from across the United States.
There is a two-part application process. First you have to fill out the application provided. Then, write at least a one-page-long paper voicing your opinions (positive or negative) to your elected officials (local, state, or federal) on any issues, problems, situations or successes.
Applications and letters are due in the 4-H office by February 13. If you are selected, you will attend the Rural Electric Youth Leadership Conference on March 25-27 in Baton Rouge, as well as the tour on June 12-19, 2009.
