The LSU AgCenter's Calhoun Research Station will host an educational field day on Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009. Registration and exhibits will open at 11 a.m. A complimentary lunch will be served from noon until 1 p.m. Activities and tours begin at 1 p.m. |
Poultry industry has ups and downs for Jackson Parish producer

Louisiana poultry industry has setback

(TV News 03/30/09) Louisiana’s poultry industry suffered a blow when Pilgrim’s Pride announced plans to close it’s northeast Louisiana processing facility. The state is working on a deal to ensure the facility continues operating. LSU AgCenter correspondent Tobie Blanchard talked with a grower who is raising his last flock of birds for Pilgrim’s Pride.
