Camellia Morning at Burden -- $5.00

Local camellian, Art Landry, will give a slide presentation on camellias, followed by a tour of the Vi & Hank Stone Memorial Camellia collection and a demonstration of pruning and propagation.
Windrush Azalea Stroll -- Donations accepted
March 15, 2009, 2-4p.m.
Stroll through the gardens of Windrush, lift your spirit and fill your senses when viewing the beautiful azaleas and camellias bursting into spring bloom.
An Afternoon of Roses -- Free
April 19, 2009, 2-4p.m.
This All-America Rose Selection Display Garden, one of three located in Louisiana, is celebrating its 25th anniversary. You are invited to come see the garden in full bloom with 1,500 bushes representing 150 varieties. LSU AgCenter horticulturalist Dr. Allen Owings will offer information on easy-care roses and the general care of roses in the landscape.
Ginger Day and Sale

Hear Dr. Jeff Kuehny’s talk on the many varieties of ginger and their care, plus tour the Burden ginger collection. Select varieties will be available for purchase.
Hayrides and the Pumpkin Patch
Fall, 2009
Explore the grounds of Burden Center, especially Trees and Trails, on a hayride; visit the Pumpkin Patch for a photo op; then take a tour of the Rural Life Museum. A day to remember.
