Randy Wright [Image: Randy with his horses.] Unit: Horse Telephone: (225) 765-2712 Current responsibilities: Maintain animals for research and teaching; enforce health program (vaccine, deworm, hoof care, etc.); maintain nutritional program for animals; management of pastures and hay fields; manage feeding and supplement program; purchase and dispose of animals; maintain and repair facility and equipment; purchase feed, farm supplies, equipment and research supplies; transport and assist with furnishing animals for Animal Science classes, Judging Team, 4-H and FFA. contests; assist with research, data collection and guiding graduate students; maintain accurate animal and equipment inventory; keep accurate financial records of horse farm budgeted funds; serve as Central Research Stations purchasing coordinator.  Unit: Sheep Telephone: (225) 765-0764   Current responsibilities: Manage all aspects of the sheep unit; coordinate and supervise lambing operation; process and identify newborn lambs; provide health care supervision; coordinate preparation and planting of winter pastures; supervise general maintenance of facilities and equipment; assist extension and teaching as requested or assigned; assist scientists in data collection; maintain accurate equipment and livestock inventories.
